KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Acting Education Minister Mawlavi Habibullah Agha has alleged some media outlets for spreading propaganda that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) was against modern education.
He said this while addressing a gathering of students on Monday during his trip to southeastern Khost province.
Besides religious education, the government of the IEA is paying serious attention to modern education as well and considers it as a need for this time, but a number of biased media outlets spread negative propagandas that it does not pay any attention to scientific o modern education, Agha said.
He added: “This is all of the propagandas of the foes which must not be heard, if anyone hears such this they must ignore it, now you see that you are taught both religious and modern education. Obtaining scientific education is a need of our life.”
With the help of different organization, the government of the IEA built 1,400 new school-buildings across the country, the acting minister added.
He said, the IEA is using all of its available resources for increasing the knowledge level of the people of this country.
He said: “The MoE is committed and it promises to build what the people of this country need, whether they are schools, seminaries, universities or any other education facilities.”
Besides the local classes in rural areas, the government had also prepared the curriculum of schools up to the grade six which will be published and distributed to all students.
Agha said: “The IEA had also prepared a curriculum for the local classes from its 1st to 3rd grades of the local classes.”
The acting education minister made this trip to Khost while the students of the cold areas of this country attend their final exams.
