Panjsher hospital gets medical equipment worth $150,000

PARAKH (Pajhwok): The World Health Organisation has donated essential medical equipment worth 150,000 US dollars to the 50 bed hospital in Rakha district of central Panjsher province.

The aid includes two devices for diagnosis with caterology, PCR and surgical equipment.

Saifuddin Laton, the governor’s spokesman, quoted Mohammad Agha Hakeem, the provincial governor, as saying the assistance will provide people with the possibility of free diagnosis and treatment.

He added that the value of these devices and equipment reached 150,000 US dollars.

The bacteriology kit is designed for cultivation and culture of microbes and PCR device diagnoses 21 blood diseases.

Laton said patients of the province had previously been forced to travel to Kabul and other provinces for treatment.

He added now patients will be able to treat themselves for free in the 50-bed hospital in the district.
