6 convicts imprisoned, publicly punished in Ghor

FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): Six individuals were punished in public after being convicted of crimes in western Ghor province, the governor’s house said Thursday.

In a statement, the governor’s house media office said: “The court sentenced two individuals to five months in prison each and 25 lashes each, another individual was sentenced to four months in prison and 30 lashes.

A fourth person was awarded two years executive imprisonment and 27 lashes, a fifth one year in prison and lashed 39 times and the last convict was sentenced to 39 lashes”

The sixth person was convicted of moral corruption, adultery, and sodomy and was punished in public.

The punishment was carried out in public at the Ferozkoh Sports Stadium after approval from the Supreme Court.
