Kabul, Islamabad agree to boost relations

KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Minister of Defence Mulllah Mohammad Yaqub Mujahid and the Pakistan ambassador in Kabul have emphasised on enhanced bilateral ties.

Yaqub met Ambassador Ubaid Ur Rehman Nizamani here on Wednesday, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said in a statement.

Mujahid said Afghanistan and Pakistan were neighbouring countries with many commonalities, enjoying cordial relations based on mutual respect.

He added the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) was committed to maintaining cooperative relations with Pakistan in economic, trade and other areas.

For his part, the Pakistani ambassador also stressed the need for further boosting the links between the two countries.
