KABUL (Pajhwok): Veteran leggie and Afghanistan T20 skipper Rashid Khan has claimed the top spot in the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) ODI bowling rankings.
In the rankings released on Wednesday, Pakistani left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi is in the second slot and South Africa's Keshav Maharaj in the third place.
Rashid Khan delivered impressive performances in the Afghanistan’s recent ODI series against Bangladesh and South Africa.
The star leg-spinner grabbed five wickets in three matches against Bangladesh at an economy rate of 4.19.
In the South Africa series, Rashid claimed seven scalps, including a five-wicket haul.
Rashid has taken 195 wickets at an economy rate of 4.19 with five five-wicket hauls to show for his efforts in his ODI career so far.
He is five wickets short of the fourth fastest bowler to the landmark of 200 wickets after Mitchell Starc, Saqlain Mushtaq and Trent Boult.
Meanwhile, Afghanistan’s talented all-rounder Mohammad Nabi has also retained his top position.
