NEILI (Pajhwok): Around 200 drug addicts have reintegrated into society and returned to their families after completing a three-month treatment programme in central Daykundi province, an official said on Friday.
Police spokesman Ghulam Ali Javed told Pajhwok Afghan News that these individuals were gathered from across the province and treated at a 200-bed rehabilitation centre.
He explained that after successfully completing the three-month treatment program and confirming the elimination of addiction symptoms, the individuals were reunited with their families on Thursday.
Additionally, Javed noted that since the re-establishment of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, the Counter-Narcotics Police, in collaboration with other security agencies, had arrested 139 suspected drug traffickers, who were subsequently handed over to judicial authorities for prosecution.
