Baghlan man detained after stabbing to death mother

PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): A young man has allegedly stabbed his mother to death in the Khanjan district of northern Baghlan province, an official said on Friday.

Police spokesman Maulvi Sher Ahmad Burhani told Pajhwok Afghan News that the incident occurred in the Siasang area of the district on Thursday night.

He said the suspect had been arrested and currently in police custody.

Burhani added that an investigation is ongoing to determine the motive behind the killing.
