LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): The Club-Level cricket tournament in southern Helmand has concluded, with the Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan team emerging victorious.
The tournament, which began two months ago in Lashkargah, the provincial capital, featured 18 teams.
Maulvi Sher Mohammad Wahdat, Deputy Director of Information and Culture in Helmand, told Pajhwok Afghan News that six teams advanced to the second round, with Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan and Tayyib Cricket Clubs reaching the final.
In the final, Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan won the toss and chose to bat first, setting a target of 82 runs in 26 overs.
However, Tayyib Cricket Club was unable to chase the target and was dismissed for 60 runs in 20 overs.
The tournament ended with Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan securing the championship.
