KABUL (Pajhwok): The World Food Programme (WFP) says it has provided 10.5 million deserving people food and cash aid across Afghanistan during the current year.
The UN food agency provided food packages nutrition to children, boosted the local economy and empowered communities.
The aid was financially supported by Germany and Sweden.
According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), 23 million people in Afghanistan need assistance.
In a recent analysis, OCHA said an amount of $603.5 million was urgently required to support priority winter preparedness activities such as upgrades and repairs to shelters and the provision of warm clothes and blankets.
