Cold snap in Badakhshan leaves 3 children dead

FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): At least three children have been killed as a result of harsh weather in the Raghistan district of northern Badakhshan province, an official said on Saturday.

District chief Qari Mohammad Asif Zafaryar said four children wanted to go to one village from anther on Friday.

He said three of them lost their lives due to cold weather and the fourth one was rescued. The children were eight to 12 years old.

The minors were staying with their relatives in Siab Nazd village and wanted to go to their homes in Kalari area, which is less than four kilometres away.
