KABUL (Pajhwok): The Salang highway has been reopened for the all kinds of traffic after hours of closure due to heavy snowfall and server storms, the Ministry of Public Works (MoPW) said on Saturday.
Mohammad Ashraf Haqshanas, the ministry’s spokesperson, wrote on social media platform X the busy highway was reopened for traffic at 8:00pm last night.
The ministry asked travelers and motorists to take along required winter equipment and exercise caution while traveling the road.
The Salang highway, which connects Kabul with northern provinces, was closed for traffic on Friday afternoon) due to heavy snow and storms for several hours.
