FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Out of 11district buildings in western Farah province only Parchaman district building is intact and the remaining are partially or completely destroyed due to the past conflict.
Fararod district administrative chief Maulvi Mohammad Seqid Jihadmal told Pajhwok Afghan News their district headquarters building had been mostly destroyed due to the past conflict in the country.
He added: “The Information and Statics, Education, Martyrs and Disabled and Vice and Virtue Departments have no buildings of their own.”
He urged the government to construct building for this district centre in order to save essential documents.
Meanwhile, Haji Nasir, administrative chief of Jawin district, said their district centre building had no windows and doors.
He added: "Our district building was built in the old place, the soil and relics of the first building are still lying there, which should be removed and doors and windows should be installed there.”
On the other hand, Information and Culture Director Mauvli Abdul-Hi Sabawoon also acknowledged that the buildings of many districts of the province were partially or completely destroyed due to past conflict.
He said: “Currently, Parkhman district has buildings, Balablok, Bakwah, and Khaksafid are without buildings, Gulistan has a weak building, Anardara has half-constructed and half-demolished buildings, Shibkoh and Pushtkoh also have half-destroyed buildings and Jawin district has no windows and doors.”
Deputy governor Mauvli Abdul Karim Jahangir told Pajhwok construction work was ongoing on police headquarters buildings in some districts.
He said efforts were underway to construct buildings for districts as well.
Some other districts officials of the province also complain about their lack of access to portable drinking water and electricity.
