GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): A futsal tournament featuring 20 teams commenced in southern Ghazni province on Wednesday.
Head of Sports Bilal Mujahid told Pajhwok Afghan News the competitions at Maula Ali gymnasium of Ghazni city will last for a month.
He said the opening match was played between Etehad Shahristan and Qaramanan teams. The Etehad Shahristan team defeated their rivals 4-2, the director added.
The event is aimed at creating unity among athletes.
Yaqoob, an athlete, told Pajhwok such competitions could create strong bonds between futsal players and enhance their experience.
According to him, the Futsal Federation should provide facilities for players.
Two weeks ago, a futsal competition between 22 teams was launched in the province.
