KABUL (Pajhwok): Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs Maulvi Abdul Salam Hanafi has called on Afghan businesspeople in Uzbekistan to invest in their homeland.
In a meeting with officials from the Surkhandarya province of Uzbekistan, Hanafi underlined the importance of expanding trade relations between Kabul and Tashkent, according to a statement from the Presidential Palace.
Hanafi, along with his delegation, met Afghan traders and investors in Termiz city on Tuesday. The traders presented proposals on improving trade exchanges between the two countries.
Hanafi assured them the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) was committed to providing the necessary facilities and opportunities for investors and traders.
He stated IEA had already announced significant incentives for trade and investment. He encouraged traders to take advantage of the opportunities to invest in various sectors of Afghanistan’s economy.
The meeting between the IEA delegation and Surkhandarya officials also resulted in an agreement on expanding bilateral relations, particularly in the trade sector, between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.
