3 killed, 11wounded in Ghazni, Faryab accidents

GHAZNI CITY/ MAIMANA (Pajhwok): At least three people, including a woman, have been killed and 11 others wounded in four separate traffic accidents in southern Ghazni and northern Faryab provinces, officials said on Saturday.

Ghazni police spokesman Abu Khalid Sarhadi told Pajhwok Afghan News the first accident took place when a pick-up vehicle overturned in Janda Bazar area of Gilan district on Friday night.

He said one individual lost his life and four others were injured in the incident.

He added two people were wounded after a truck overturned in Nawar district of the province.

He did not say what caused the accident, but such accidents often occur due to reckless driving and over-speeding.

Separately, two people were killed and five others wounded in two separate traffic accidents in Faryab province, police chief Qari Gul Mohammad Niazai said.

He said two motorcycles collided with each other in Sharin Tagab district of the province on Friday.

He added two people, including a woman, lost their lives and a third was injured in the collision.

Four people were injured after a car veered of the road and flipped over in Maimana, the provincial capital, on Friday, the official concluded.
