Balkh families reconcile, end 3-year-old enmity

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): A three-year-old enmity between three families has ended in Chaharbulak district of northern Balkh province, thanks to the mediation from local officials and elders.

Sardar Mohammad Mohammadi, an official of the border and tribal affairs department, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the feud stood resolved between three families after efforts by his department, local officials, and tribal leaders.

According to him, the conflict between Alam Khan, Sardar and Noorul Haq had claimed two lives.

During the reconciliation ceremony, officials and tribal leaders discussed the importance of peace, unity, and forgiveness, emphasizing that such feuds should be permanently resolved.

On behalf of the families, Alam Khan thanked the officials, tribal leaders and the local community for their efforts in resolving the feud.

He said, “Enmity is difficult, we had no life, no education, we would think day and night about when we would attack or when they would attack us. My message to everyone is that nothing good comes from enmity, I hope tribal leaders will create opportunities for such peaceful resolutions."
