KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan has extended an agreement on importing electricity from Turkmenistan until the end of 2025, the power utility announced on Saturday.
Da Afghanistan Breshna Shirkat (DABS) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Abdul Bari Omar and a delegation accompanying him renewed the agreement during a trip to Ashgabat.
Based on the accord, Turkmenistan would provide electricity to Afghanistan through four routes -- Andkhoi, Aqina, Badghis and Turgundi-Herat, DABS wrote on its X handle.
The company did provide further details about the agreement, which came after the renewal of a similar deal with Tajikistan on November 25.
