FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): A three-year-old enmity between residents of two villages has come to an end in Kof-e-Ab district of northeastern Badakhshan province, officials said on Tuesday.
The former foes thanked local officials and elders for their mediation to resolve their feud.
Information and Culture Director Eng. Zabihullah Amiri said the feud was resolved between Ghazoun and Daraj villages after efforts by his department, local officials and head of anti-narcotics commission Mullah Juma Khan.
Both sides promised that from now they will live together in peace as brothers and will take active part in development of the region, he added.
He said the conflict arose over grazing lands and occasionally led to physical clashes among the people.
According to him, the parties hated conflicts and wanted peace and friendship and the authorities finally took action and arranged meetings attended by religious scholars and local officials, where the parties embraced each other and reconciled.
