8 million afs road project launched in Ghazni

GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): A road concreting project that is estimated to cost eight million afghanis has been started in southern Ghazni province, an official said on Tuesday.

At the opening ceremony, Mayor Maulvi Mohammad Nabi Hamza said the 600 meters long road was being concerted in Qala-i-Naw Khwaja Roshnayee area of fourth district.

The World Bank funded project will be completed in three months, he added.

According to the mayor, dozens of people will work on the project every day.

On the other hand, residents are happy with the construction of this road.

Lutf Ahmad, a tribal elder, told Pajhwok Afghan News the road was unpaved and people would face many problems.

Hundreds of people and vehicles travel on this road daily, so action should have been taken earlier to build it, he said.

Earlier, construction of four other roads in areas related to Ghazni city has been completed with World Bank assistance.
