KABUL (Pajhwok): Iran’s new Ambassador to Afghanistan Ali Reza Bigdeli has announced the exchange of high-ranking delegation in near future to further boost ties between Tehran and Kabul.
He made the announcement during a meeting with Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi late on Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
Muttaqi welcomed the new Iranian ambassador and assured his ministry would fully cooperate with him in advancing his mission.
For his part, Bigdeli hailed the state of relations between the two countries as exceptional and promised to do all he could to further enhance bilateral cooperation during his assignment.
For achieving that goal, the Iranian diplomat suggested an exchange of visits by high-level delegations.
Bigdeli, appointed as Iran’s new ambassador to Afghanistan on November 24, replaced Hassan Kazemi Qomi.
