Volleyball tournament concludes in Kunduz

KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): A volleyball tournament featuring 10 teams concluded in northern Kunduz province on Thursay, with ‘Mawjhai Amu’ Team emerging victorious.

In a statement, the Sports Department said tournament was aimed at encouraging youths and creating healthy entertainment in Kalbad Kunduz district.

“The Alchin and Mawjhai Amu teams played the final match, which Mawjhai Amu team won 25/17,” it added.

On the other hand, athletes were happy over the launch of the competitions.

Mohammad Sabir, an athlete, said: “The launch of such competitions encourages us and we want youths to play sports”.

Previously, volleyball tournaments had been launched in Imam Sahib district with the aim of developing this sport.
