32 coalminers trapped after collapse in Samangan

AIBAK (Pajhwok): At least 32 miners were trapped after a coalmine collapsed in Dar-e-Soaf district of northern Samangan province, an official said on Sunday.

Governor’s spokesman Esmatullah Muradi told Pajhwok Afghan News that 32 workers got stuck after the mine collapsed in Safed area of Gela village last night.

He said rescue teams had reached the scene and efforts were underway to rescue the trapped miners.

According to him, there are no details about casualties in the incident.
