JALALABAD (Pajhwok): An eight-year old feud between two families in Goshti district of eastern Nangarhar province was resolved on Monday after mediation of tribal elders, religious scholars and local officials.
Originated from the murder of a woman in Mamakhel area, the enmity lasted eight years.
Administrative Chief of Goshti district Qari Mohammad Imran Mohammadi told a reconciliation gathering the feud between Khalid and Staqat families claimed life of a woman.
Meanwhile, members of these families also voiced satisfaction over the reconciliation and appreciated the efforts of tribal elders, religious scholars and local officials in this regard.
Speakers also talked about the importance of peace and reconciliation and assured that they would strive to end enmities between other families as well in the district.
