KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Minister of Public Health Maulvi Noor Jalal Jalali and the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) representative have discussed the strengthening of Afghanistan’s health sector.
Jalali urged the UNICEF to deliver essential medical equipment and medicines to hospitals in time.
He met UNICEF Representative Dr. Tajudeen Oyewale and the delegation accompanying him here on Monday, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) said.
A statement from the ministry said evaluation of the services provided by implementing organisations, timely delivery of essential medical equipment and medicine to hospitals and strengthening of Afghanistan’s health sector came up for discussion.
Jalali emphasised on joint standard evaluation and transparency in the services provided by implementing institutions in provinces.
He also asked UNICEF to dispatch medical equipment to hospitals on time and pay attention to improving the quality of health services.
