PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): A free education programme has been launched for 800 students in Pul-i-Alam, the capital of central Logar province, an official said on Monday.
Rafiullah Samim, head of the Information and Cultural Affairs Department, said during the three months long programme students would be provided learning opportunities of learning English language, calligraphy and computer programming free of cost.
He thanked the Haji Mangal Education Centre for providing learning opportunity for 800 students at its personal expenditure.
He said the Information and Cultural Affairs Department welcomed the launch of learning programmes and called on other national businessmen to provide youth education opportunities in different sectors.
Mohammad Akbar Atal, head of the Haji Mangal Education Centre, said that in coordination with the Information and Cultural Department a three months winter learning scheme had been launched where 800 students would get free of cost education training.
He said this scheme was launched for the purpose that the country could only progress through education and learning.
Atal said that he has also established a special religious school for girls in the Ghairabad area of Pul-i-Alam city, where hundreds of girls are studying for free.
It is worth mentioning that this educational institution has previously provided literacy to hundreds of poor people in Pul-e-Alam city and districts in coordination with the Departments of Education, Information and Culture of Logar province.
