KABUL (Pajhwok): The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has launched a one-year program to support rural people in northern Balkh and central Uruzgan provinces with financial support from Japan.
On X handle, UNDP wrote the program valued six million dollars will be completed in six months. “It focuses on improving food security and creating employment opportunities, especially for women”.
It said the program will be implemented in Balkh and Uruzgan provinces.
This program will create sustainable employment and income sources for 50,000 diverse people, especially those affected by the poppy ban and climate change, UNDP added.
