First shipment of Chinese goods arrives in Afghanistan via Iran

KABUL (Pajhwok): The first shipment of Chinese goods has arrived in the Rozung Station in Western Herat province through the Iranian railway track, an official said on Friday.

Mohammad Ashraf Haqshanas, spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Works, on his x.com wrote the shipment arrived in Bandar-i-Abbas from China and then reached Afghanistan through the railway line.

He said the shipment of this cargo, which includes 100 tons of iron coils, is an important step in developing Afghanistan's transit relations and connecting the country to open waters, and a major development in the field of transportation and regional transit.

The completion of the Khawaf-Herat railway will provide new capabilities to the Afghan economy and create a favorable opportunity for the development of trade and transit in the region.
