HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): The national Karate championship will be held in the next two weeks in western Herat province, the Afghanistan Karate Federation (AKF) said on Thursday.
AKF vice-president Farooq Shah Akbari during a visit to Herat said the Karate championship featuring 300 athletes from different provinces will be launched in the next two weeks in the province.
The competition is aimed at selecting best athletes for the Asia Championship 2025, he added.
Head of AKF Mohammad Hanif Sultani explained the three-day competition will be kicked off in the presence of international referees and awards will also be given to the champions and runners-up.
Athletes appreciated AKF for holding of the competitions.
Recently, Herat hosted the Afghan Football Champions League and the National Equestrian Competition, which drew widespread applause from the public.
