KABUL (Pajhwok): As many as 21 development projects have been executed at a cost of 40 million afghanis in southeastern Paktia province during the ongoing solar year, the Ministry of Energy and Water announced on Tuesday.
The projects were executed in Gardez, the provincial capital, Zurmat and Rohani Baba districts, MoEW said in a statement.
It said the schemes included construction, reconstruction and cleaning of dams, canals, river basins, and wells.
Funded by the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) and United Nations Development Programme, the projects have been implemented under the supervision of MoEW.
Numerous job opportunities were created for people through these projects, the statement concluded.
