5 of a family die by suffocation in Khost

KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): At least five members of a family have lost their lives due to gas suffocation in southeastern Khost province, an official said on Tuesday.

Police spokesman Tahir Ihrar told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident occurred in a residential apartment in the eastern part of Khost City on Monday night.

He said the victims included one woman and four men. The victims were residents of Sarobi district of Paktika province and had come to Khost two days ago for the treatment of a sick individual.

Earlier, a gas cylinder explosion had claimed the lives of four members of a family, including women and children, in the same province.
