KABUL (Pajhwok): A Chechen delegation, led by the Academy of Sciences chief, has arrived in Kabul to discuss cultural bonds and visit Afghanistan's historical sites.
Deputy Minister of Information and Culture Maulvi Atiqullah Azizi, who met the delegation, highlighted historical ties between Afghanistan and the Russian Federation.
The Ministry of Information and Culture (MoIC) said in a statement Azizi hailed the role of Russia as crucial in the development of Afghanistan's economy and infrastructure.
He hoped the visiting delegation would help boost further the cultural ties between the two countries.
Jambulat Umarov, head of the Chechen Academy of Sciences and deputy director of the Council of Nationalities of the Russian Federation, expressed his satisfaction with their visit.
He stressed the importance of strengthening cultural ties between Afghanistan and the Chechen Republic, discussing the commonalities between the two nations.
