KABUL (Pajhwok): The 16th edition of the Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan Provincial Grad- II Tournament, featuring 40 teams, is set to commence on January 11, the cricket board announced on Wednesday.
The tournament will follow a one-day format, with a total of 80 matches scheduled to take place over 21 days, from January 11 to January 31.
A statement from the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) said the participating teams had been divided into eigh groups, each consisting of five teams,
The matches would be played at four venues in Khost, Nangarhar, Kunar and Kandahar provinces, the statement added.
Each team will compete once against every other team in their respective group. The teams with the most points in each group will proceed to the Provincial Grade-1 tournament, which will take place shortly after the conclusion of the Grade II tournament.
