KABUL (Pajhwok): The acting Afghan ambassador in Islamabad and elders from Kurram district have discussed relations among Pashtuns living close to the Durand Line.
Opening of new routes for people’s movement and the current situation in the district also came up for discussion, the Afghan Embassy in Islamabad said wrote on X.
Ambassador Sardar Ahmad Shakib met a delegation, led by Malik Haji Shirin Mangal and including tribal elders, from Kurram.
It said relations among Pashtuns living along the Durand Line, the opening of new routes and the ongoing situation in the district were discussed.
Shakib said the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) desired good relations with all parties and wanted people on both sides to live in peace, harmony, unity and brotherhood.
He emphasised the caretaker government believed appropriate solutions should be found to the challenges facing communities in border areas, instead of allowing issues to persist.
