KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Amir Khan Muttaqi and his United Arab Emirates (UAE) counterpart have discussed issues, including bilateral relations.
Muttaqi met UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan late on Wednesday, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) wrote on his X handle.
Abdul Qahar Balkhi said relations between the two countries, expanding economic cooperation and regional issues came up for discussion.
The two sides emphasised on enhancing trade between Afghanistan and the UAE, particularly facilitating marketing opportunities for Afghan businesspeople.
Muttaqi urged the UAE to simplify the visa issuance processes for Afghan citizens, highlighting the Afghan government’s readiness to take similar steps.
The two sides agreed to continue making concerted efforts and follow up on previously agreed- matters to further strengthen bilateral trade.
Muttaqi travelled to the UAE on Tuesday at the head of a delegation.
