ZARANJ (Pajhwok): Fifteen alleged human traffickers have been arrested in northwestern Nimroz province, an official said on Tuesday.
Anti-Criminal Crimes Director, Maulvi Ataullah Mustafa told Pajhwok Afghan News nine suspects were detained by the Crimes Investigation Department and six others by police in connection with human trafficking.
He said eight vehicles and rickshaws used in human trafficking were also seized from the suspects.
Mustafa called the arrest of these individuals as an important step in ensuring public security and explained combating human trafficking required full cooperation of the people and relevant institutions.
The arrested suspects are being investigated and their cases will be sent to the Nimroz Courts, the official added.
