KABUL (Pajhwok): Russian Ambassador during a meeting with Acting Minister of Labour and Social Affairs has said the level of trade between the two countries is increasing.

In a statement, MoLSA said Acting Minister Mullah Abdul Manan Omari met with Russian Ambassador to Kabul Dmitry Zhirnov and his delegation led by Economic and Trade Advisor Nikolai Sazhenov.

Omari welcomed the delegation’s visit to Afghanistan and explained the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) wanted good interaction with countries in the region and the world based on mutual respect and national interests.

He said the IEA has been able to establish good relations with many countries in economic and trade sectors to strengthen political relations.

With complete security in Afghanistan, domestic and foreign investors have the opportunity to invest here, Omari added.

Referring to the prominence of Russia in the region, the acting minister expressed hope that a suitable market would be provided for Afghan agricultural products in Russia, and the existing relations between the two countries in various fields would be further expanded, and that both sides would identify working-technical groups in the process of transferring Afghan workers to reach a common understanding.

According to MoLSA, the Russian Ambassador explained: “Good progress has been made in the field of trade between Afghanistan and Russia, the level of trade is increasing, and we are committed to not only encouraging Russian investors to invest here, but also creating appropriate facilities for Afghan traders.”

He also expressed his assurance of cooperation in the transit sector.
