GARDEZ (Pajhwok): A child has been killed and five others have been injured as a result of a rocket shell explosion in southeastern Paktia province, an official said on Monday.
In a statement, police spokesman Munib Zadran said the explosion occurred on Sunday when an old rocket shell exploded in the Gulghondai area of Zazai Aryub district.
It added one child lost his life and five others, including a girl were injured in the blast. The injured were evacuated to Paktia Zonal Hospital, where three of them are in critical condition.
Earlier, several explosions of the same nature caused casualties in Zurmat and Dand-i-Patan districts of the province.
