3 criminals get punishment in Nangarhar

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Three convicts have been handed over Tazir punishment for having illegitimate relationships in the Koz Kunar district of eastern Nangarhar province, a statement said on Wednesday.

The Primary Court of Koz Kunar District, Nangarhar, has sentenced three people, including a woman, to prison for the crime of illicit relations, reads the statement.

The meeting organized for this purpose was attended by the head of the court, Mufti Latifullah Stanikzai, the court's mufti, staff, the deputy district chief, the police chief, the intelligence director, the head of the Amr-e-Bal-Marouf, staff from the relevant district, and some local people.

The primary court had sentenced the criminals to 39 lashes each, which was enforced after the Supreme Court upheld the verdict.
