KABUL (Pajhwok): A small medical jet crashed shortly after takeoff in a Philadelphia neighborhood on Friday evening, causing multiple homes to catch fire, media reports said on Saturday.
The plane, carrying a child and five others, went down just minutes after departing. Reuters reported that the medical aircraft company said, "At this time, we cannot confirm any survivors."
State and local officials confirmed late Friday that they had not yet determined the number of potential casualties on the ground after the plane crashed into a densely populated area of the city.
The Mexican government confirmed that all those on board were Mexican nationals, according to CNN.
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, speaking at a press conference at the crash site, said, "We know there will be loss in this region."
In a separate incident last week, the US Federal Aviation Administration reported that a passenger plane with 64 people on board collided with a helicopter while approaching the runway at Reagan Airport in Washington, D.C., before crashing into the Potomac River.
