200 more ancient sites registered in Ghor in 3 years

FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): Digital devices have been installed to assess the status of historical monuments and 200 more historical monuments and ancient sites were registered in western Ghor province during the past three years, an official said on Monday.

Information and Culture Director Maulvi Abdul Hai Za’em told Pajhwok Afghan News: “Since Islamic Emirate’s takeover, we identified and registered 200 ancient sites in different areas in cooperation with archaeological technical team of the Ministry of Information and Culture (MoIC)”.

Additionally, some activities were also carried out to protect historical monuments in the province and this process of registering historical and ancient sites continues, he added.

Recently, digital devices have been installed to assess the condition of historical monuments, he explained.

According to him, other activities including construction of retaining walls, cleaning around historical springs, and creating facilities for tourists have been carried out.
