Asan Khidmat center opens for first time in Helmand

LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): The first Asan Khidmat Center has been opened in Lashkargah, the capital of southern Helmand province, for rapid distribution of electronic ID cards, birth certificates and related services.

In a ceremony in this regard, the Asan Khidmat Center was opened for the first time to provide rapid distribution of electronic ID cards, birth certificates and related services.

Head of National Statistics and Information Authority (NSIA) Mohammad Rabbani Hewad told Pajhwok Afghan News three electronic ID card distribution centers have already been activated in the province, but they were unable to meet the demands of the residents.

“The opening of this center will solve people’s problems, this center will provide services to 250 people every day and people will receive electronic ID cards within a week”: he added.

According to him, they plan to establish electronic ID card distribution centers in the Gereshk and Garmsir districts of the province.

Mohammad Akbar Raz, head of Asan Khidmat, explained the center has two branches, one for men and the other for women.

“The services here are varied. Like other centers, the employees here are highly trained and professional, and services will be performed in a salon”.

On the other hand, residents, coming to Lashkargah city to obtain electronic ID cards, are happy with the establishment of Asan Khidmat center. They said this will reduce their problems and save them from many expenses.

“I came from Baghran district. Today marks 15 days since I received my ID card. I didn’t spend much money. With this center, things have become easier”: Haji Rahmatullah, a Baghran resident added.

“People are very happy with the activation of Asan Khidmat. People who used to spend months coming to get electronic ID cards will now be free from expenses and other problems”: Maulvi Wali Jan, another resident explained.

Three electronic ID card centers have already been activated in Musa Qala district and two others in Lashkargah city.
