KABUL (Pajhwok): The World Food Programme (WFP) and Afghanistan’s Natural Disaster Preparedness Authority (NDPA) are working together to ensure timely assistance to affected families.
On its X platform, ANDMA said its chief Mullah Nooruddin Turabi met Mutinta Chimuka, the WFP head in Afghanistan, and the delegation accompanying her.
During the meeting, Chimuka said WFP had consistently provided exceptional services and continued to strive to meet the needs of the people.
She added: “We will work together to offer the best services across various sectors, ensuring that affected families receive timely assistance and essential services.”
Turabi highlighted WFP's ongoing humanitarian efforts in Afghanistan, saying, “We always aim to support different organisations and institutions in various fields, and we have made significant progress in this regard.”
He also said they had identified and documented areas vulnerable to natural disasters. The regions require the construction of retaining walls and other necessary preparations.
