2 Nangarhar families reconcile after 50-year

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Two hostile families in the Achin district of eastern Nangarhar province have reconciled through the mediation of religious scholars and tribal elders, an official said on Friday.

The two families entered enmity 50 years ago and since then they considered each other as enemy.

Achin District Chief Mullah Ibrahim Khairullah told Pajhwok Afghan News a 50-year-old enmity over land between the families of Dr. Hazragul Zaheer and Haji Alakhadar in the Gawdra region was transformed into friendship through tribal mediation.

He added that the two families are close relatives and stopped interaction and visiting each other for years and remained engaged in fighting and enmity, which has only recently been reconciled through the efforts of tribal elders and religious scholars.

Malik Akhtar Mohammad Shinwari, a member of the Jirga, said that as a result of their efforts of several months, the two families are ready to reconcile and reconciled today.

Similarly, the two families praised the efforts of tribal elders and religious scholars in this reconciliation and expressed their happiness.

Rahmatullah, a member of the family of Dr. Hazrat Gul Zaheer, said that this enmity was left to them by their ancestors and today they are happy that they have reconciled.

The Achin district says that both sides promised that they will never try to harm each other again and will live like brothers.
