Kourosh competitions amongst 75 athletes held in Kunduz

KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): Kourosh competitions among 75 athletes has kicked off in the Chardara district of northern Kunduz province, a statement said on Saturday.

The Kunduz Provincial Department of Physical Training and Sports announced the launch of these competitions.

A statement in this regard said the goal of these competitions is to grow the traditional sport of Kourosh and encourage Kourosh athletes.

These one-day competitions were launched with the aim of promoting and strengthening national and local games and providing healthy entertainment to the residents of this district.

Mohammad Ali, another wrestler, said: "More of these competitions should be held in the future, if we are supported, we can compete in any field, our request to all young people is that they should exercise, exercise is a guarantee of health."

At the end of these competitions, 37 wrestlers managed to win the championship by defeating their opponents.
