KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Public Works (MoPW) has inked agreements with two private firms for the reconstruction of the Maidan Wardak-Logar road.
Acting Minister of Public Works Mullah Mohammad Isa Sani signed contracts worth 713 million afghanis with two private companies for the project.
MoPW spokesman Mohammad Ashraf Haqshanas wrote on X the total length of the road was 31.6km, including 120 culverts. The project will be executed in two phases.
The road starts from Amir Kala area in the Tangi Valley of Maidan Wardak and passes through Alwazo, Doghabad, Sholak and Babus before reaching Pul-i-Alam, the capital of Logar.
He added the reconstruction of the highway would be completed in 16 months. The first phase covers a 17.4-km stretch and the second 14.2km.
