PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) will build 13 standard commercial markets in central Logar province, an official said on Wednesday.
In a ceremony in this regard, Head of Housing and Urban Affairs Maulvi Matiullah Zahid said 13 standard commercial markets will be built in Baraki Barak, Charkh districts and Pul-i-Alam city.
He said these markets were being built primarily for trade and economic development, and practical work on them will begin soon.
Governor’s spokesman Sediq Ahmad Sediqi told Pajhwok Afghan News a joint committee of 10 departments has been formed to build these markets and work has begun on a detailed plan before the launch of practical work.
MoHUA will build standard markets in the remaining districts of Logar province, he added.
Ajmal, a resident of Pul-i-Alam city, told Pajhwok he was happy that the government was building standard markets in the city and two districts.
Officials did not share details about the cost.
