PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): The Awami National Party (ANP) says ex-spymaster Gen. Faiz Hameed be held responsible for shedding the blood of Pashtuns on both sides of the Durand Line.

“There is talk of investigations being conducted into misuse of power by Gen Faiz Hameed,” ANP leader and former KP chief Minister Amir Haider Hoti said on Wednesday,

Pakhtuns were not terrorists, but terrorism was imposed on them, he told a party gathering in Mohmand tribal district.

Hoti alleged then Pakistani military rulers, in collaboration with the US, had turned the Pakhtun heartland into a battlefield. “This resulted in the bloodshed of thousands of innocent Pakhtuns.”

He claimed relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan were worsening with each passing day. He asked Islamabad to address bilateral issues through diplomacy.

Security was nose-diving in Mohmand, Bajaur, Waziristan, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Lakki Marwat and Tank districts due to the wrong policies of power that be, he maintained.

The ex-chief minister asked who had brought foreigners to Afghanistan and promoted the Kalashnikov and heroin culture in the region.

The ANP leader pointed out that the masses had rendered great sacrifices for the restoration of peace in the region. The hard-won stability must be preserved, he stressed.
