KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority (ANDMA) on Tuesday signed a cooperation agreement worth more than 1.224 million dollars with an organization.
In a statement, ANDMA said the agreement was signed between acting Minister Mullah Nooruddin Torabi and Danish Refugee Council DRC Country Director Dania Al-Sharif here today (Tuesday).
Under the agreement, DRC will distribute $1,224,242 to survey and clear 400, 224 square meters of land contaminated with landmines and unexploded ordnance in Kabul, Parwan, Logar, Maidan Wardak, and Ghazni provinces. Additionally, 12,960 people will be provided with public awareness on the dangers of landmines and unexploded ordnance.
“We have provided necessary facilities for institutions’ activities, we are carrying out their work on time, and ask them to carry out their work quickly and transparently”: the acting minister added.
Torabi asked the organization to accelerate its activities and clear areas contaminated with landmines and unexploded ordnance as soon as possible to protect people from potential dangers.
On February 10, ANDMA signed a cooperation agreement valued more than 260,000 US dollars with an institution.
