KANDAHAR (Pajhwok): Seven members of a family were killed and three others injured in a traffic accident in the capital of southern Zabul province on Thursday, police said.
The provincial police headquarters said the accident took place in the vicinity of Qalat city, the provincial capital.
Maulvi Zabihullah Johar, a spokesman for the Zabul police headquarters, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the accident occurred at shortly after 12pm when a truck and a car collided in Pul-i-Sangi area.
He said the dead included four women and three children and the injured included two women and a man, all from the same family.
According to him, the injured have been taken to the provincial hospital.
The truck driver fled after the accident, but police captured him later.
