FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): As many as 2,368 work permits have been issued in northeastern Badakhshan province during the ongoing year and hundreds of children have been provided with education opportunities, an official said on Saturday.
Maulvi Khair Mohammad Safdar, work and social affairs director, told Pajhwok Afghan News, Of the total licenses issued, 648 licenses were distributed to baccalaureate degree holders, 667 licenses to post-baccalaureate graduates, 526 licenses to bachelor's degree holders, 189 licenses to service employees, and another 329 licenses were distributed to employees in various institutions.
He added that in order to support orphans and prevent them from working hard, 509 destitute boys and girls were identified, of which 271 were introduced to schools, 113 children have been engaged in small businesses after training, and another 125 children are receiving training in skills such as tailoring, mobile phone manufacturing, and market-oriented professions.
Safdar clarified that 140 of the needy and returnees individuals from Maimi, Eshkashem, Shighnan and Wakhan districts were introduced to tailoring, painting and plumbing courses as well. They all were provided required kits in order to be able to get employment after their graduation.
Safdar further added that 40 of such needy and less-fortunate individuals were currently learning mobile set and computer repairing skills.
He emphasized, the directorate will double its efforts to teach the newly rehabilitated individuals of drugs addiction (both women and men) such skills for their reintegration in the society and to find them employment during the course of next year.
